Posture
Most of us remember being told about our posture when we were children - "Stand up straight!" or "Pull your shoulders back!" are regular admonishments. But despite comments like this, few of actually know what good posture is, or how to achieve it.
If we don't know how to achieve good posture, we certainly know the results of bad posture. These can include:
- Hunched shoulders
- Stiff neck
- Backache
- Headaches
- Restricted breathing
- Tightness in the hips and legs
So how do you avoid these problems? There are a number of forms of exercise and therapy that can help remedy these problems and have you looking and feeling better. These include:
- The Alexander Technique
- The Feldenkrais Method

- Physical Therapy
- Tai Chi
- Yoga
- Osteopathy
- Rolfing
- Chiropractic
What all these have in common is that they are holistic ways of getting your body into its correct anatomical alignment, with the end result of improving your quality of life.
You will find that you stand, sit, walk and move better. Not only will this result in less pain, it will also improve your appearance. Standing and moving properly gives you a presence, a confidence that others recognize.
