Tricep muscle
Your tricep muscle lies on the back of your upper arm, and makes up almost two thirds of your upper arm bulk. So if you're looking for big arms, it's essential to build your tricep muscle.
The good news is that the tricep muscle is easy to work, and for many people is one of their favourite body parts to train - it seems to respond well to training, and being so visible provides instant reinforcement for your efforts.
There's a great variety of exercises to choose from, so you can choose between machines and cables, barbells and dumbbells, depending on your preference.
Almost all the exercises listed below have several variations to them, from straight bar to EZ bar, one arm to two arm, seated to standing. The key to maintaining progress and growth is to keep challenging the body, so play with the different options to always keep your workouts fresh.
The most popular exercises for this body part would include the following:
- Close grip bench press (barbell)
- Standing extensions (cable, barbell or dumbbell)
- Lying extensions/Skull crushers (barbell)
- Kick backs (dumbbell)
- Bench dips
So if big arms are your goal, be sure to work this area hard and often.
