Thigh

Your thighs can either be one of your greatest assets, or alternatively one of your biggest problem areas. To learn how to turn your thighs into an asset, read on!

When targeting any area of the body, there are two part to the equation - getting rid of the fat, and then toning the muscles. For many people, the first part is the hardest. Getting rid of fat can be hard work, especially from the thighs.

In order to lose weight from a particular area, such as your thighs, you have to burn fat from the whole body - spot reduction simply doesn't work.

Burning fat requires that you take in less calories than you use on a consistent basis. You can do this by increasing the calories you burn (exercise), or reducing the calories you consume (dieting).

Most effective weight loss programs utilise both to maximise their effectiveness. There is also a third part of the puzzle, which is manipulating your metabolism. Metabolism refers to the rate at which you burn calories - obviously if you burn more calories per hour, you'll lose weight faster, and have a better chance of keeping it off.

You can increase your metabolism by performing more intense forms of exercise - weight training and interval workouts for example. In addition, as muscles burn more calories than fat, if you add some muscle you will burn more calories 24/7.

A combination of a good, regular exercise program and a sensible diet will soon have your legs attracting attention for all the right reasons.
