Anatomy

A basic understanding of anatomy will help you to understand exactly how the workouts you perform affect your body. Put simply, anatomy is a science that studies the structure of the body.

For anyone interested in fitness this means increasing your understanding of the workings of muscles, tendons and ligaments, and the heart and lungs.

Despite the abuse to which we subject it, the human body is actually quite fragile in certain conditions. Understanding anatomy better will help reduce your chances of injury - for example, your joints are prone to injury, particularly the knee and shoulder.

We'll help to explain how the shoulder joint works, what holds it together, and what the normal range of motion is. This will help you to understand why heavy bench press can damage your shoulders, or why you should always do lat pull-downs to the front.

Other areas we'll cover include:
  • Knee Stabilization
  • Improve hip rotation
  • Hip flexion
  • Integration training
  • Muscle tissue damage
  • Spine movements
  • The function of the hip and patella
  • The connection between the back and abs
