Group exercise

When you need support and encouragement, group exercise may be just what you're looking for. While there are times when a solo workout is great - for example running alone when you need to relax and unwind - there are also times when group exercise fits the bill much better.

Group exercise can help in several ways. For starters, there's a fantastic range of different classes to tempt you - how about these just for starters:

  • Aerobics (low and hi impact)
  • Spinning classes
  • Cardio funk
  • Yoga
  • Mat Pilates
  • Circuit training
  • Body sculpt
  • Boxercise
  • Step
  • Tai Chi
  • Abs workouts
  • Body pump
  • Skipping

In addition many other activities lend themselves to club meetings - examples include running, swimming, biking, triathlon, rollerblading, and rowing.

In addition to the sheer variety of workouts offered, there are other advantages to working out with others:

  • Meeting others with similar interests
  • Increased motivation when working out with others
  • Professional instruction available
  • Much harder to skip a workout when you're meeting up with other people
  • More fun!

So look out for our articles on the joys of sharing your workouts with others. Just some of the subjects we'll cover include:

  • Aquasise classes
  • Aqua yoga
  • Fartlek Training
  • Duathalon training
  • Heart rate monitoring
